HIFU Skin Tightening & Lifting
Doctor-guided HIFU treatment designed to support skin tightening, facial contouring and collagen stimulation by delivering focused ultrasound energy at selected tissue depths according to your skin laxity, facial anatomy and treatment goals.
About HIFU Skin Tightening & Lifting
““Focused ultrasound for firmer, more defined and naturally lifted-looking skin.””
HIFU Skin Tightening & Lifting at KAC
HIFU, or High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound, is a non-invasive technology used to deliver controlled ultrasound energy at selected depths beneath the skin.
The treatment is designed to stimulate the skin’s natural collagen-remodelling response and can help improve the appearance of mild to moderate skin laxity, facial softness and reduced definition, particularly around the lower face, jawline and selected areas of the neck.
At Karthika’s Aesthetic Centre, HIFU is not performed using one standard setting for every client.
Before treatment, we assess your skin laxity, facial anatomy, collagen condition, tissue thickness and individual ageing pattern to determine whether HIFU is suitable and which areas should be treated.
For some clients, HIFU alone may be appropriate. For others, a combination approach using RF, RF Microneedling or other collagen-stimulation treatments may provide a more balanced result.
Our goal is not to change your face. It is to support firmer skin, better definition and progressive collagen maintenance while keeping results natural-looking.

Treatment Procedures and Details
Your Lifting & Collagen Assessment
Before HIFU, we assess where the ageing changes are actually occurring.
We evaluate:
• Skin laxity
The degree of looseness in the cheeks, jawline, lower face and neck.
• Facial structure & tissue thickness
Treatment depth and intensity need to be adjusted according to individual anatomy.
• Collagen condition
Early ageing and more established laxity may require different treatment strategies.
• Facial contour
Jawline definition, lower-face heaviness and softening of facial contours are assessed.
• Skin quality
HIFU primarily addresses deeper tightening; surface concerns such as texture or pores may require complementary treatments.
• Previous aesthetic procedures
Previous HIFU, RF, fillers, threads or other procedures should be considered before planning treatment.
A personalised treatment map is then created.
Anatomy-Based Planning
Treatment depth and areas are selected according to facial structure, tissue thickness and laxity.
Focused Ultrasound Energy
Controlled ultrasound energy is delivered at selected depths to stimulate collagen remodelling.
Natural-Looking Lift
The goal is progressive tightening and definition without changing your natural facial character.
Combination Approach
HIFU may be combined with RF or other collagen-focused technologies when your skin needs support at multiple levels.
What Happens During HIFU?
After consultation, the treatment areas are mapped according to your facial anatomy and areas of laxity.
Ultrasound gel is applied, and the HIFU handpiece is placed over the selected areas.
Controlled ultrasound energy is then delivered at specific tissue depths in a planned pattern.
The treatment creates precise thermal stimulation beneath the skin, triggering a natural collagen-remodelling response over time.
During treatment, you may experience brief sensations of warmth, tingling or deeper pulses in certain areas.
Immediately afterwards, the skin may appear slightly firm or refreshed, but the main improvement develops gradually as collagen remodelling continues over the following weeks and months.
Depending on the degree of laxity and skin condition, HIFU may be performed as a standalone treatment or incorporated into a broader KAC collagen-maintenance program.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is HIFU suitable for everyone? No. HIFU is most appropriate for selected clients with mild to moderate skin laxity. A consultation is important because severe laxity, very thin facial tissue or certain medical conditions may require a different approach. Which areas can be treated? Common areas include the lower face, jawline, cheeks, under-chin region and selected areas of the neck, depending on suitability. When will I see results? Collagen remodelling is gradual. Some early tightening may be noticed sooner, while more visible improvement generally develops progressively over the following weeks and months. How many sessions are needed? The number of sessions depends on age, laxity, collagen condition and the device/protocol used. Some clients may require maintenance rather than frequent repeated sessions. Is there downtime? Downtime is usually limited. Temporary tenderness, mild swelling or sensitivity can occur in some clients. Does HIFU melt facial fat? HIFU should be planned carefully. Incorrect depth or overly aggressive treatment can affect unwanted areas, which is why facial anatomy and tissue thickness must be considered before treatment. Which is better—HIFU or RF? They work differently. HIFU is generally used for deeper focused tightening, while RF can support collagen stimulation at different skin levels. In selected cases, combining both can provide a more comprehensive approach. How long do the results last? Results vary according to age, collagen quality, lifestyle and natural ageing. Maintenance may be recommended to help preserve improvement.
